This book has taken three years to come to fruition. That's how long it took me to find enough photographs of dumped mattresses to make a book with. I then realised that pictures weren't enough, so I went about recruiting men of a certain age to contribute their mattress inspired words too. Artists, comedians, filmmakers and idiots have come together to illuminate my photography with tender words of introspection that will fill every reader's heart with joy.
Weighing in at 52 pages in length, printed on 170g recycled paper and beautifully put together by the craftsmen at Darwin, Goodnight Sweetheart is a limited edition of only 150 A5 books. The profits from the sale of each book will be donated to CALM.
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male. You can find out more about their work here.
